Alyas Karmani

Imam, Psychologist, and Lecturer with over 35 years of experience specializing in Islamic psychology, trauma, addiction, neurodiversity, youth empowerment, and relationship counselling. Alyas has led community initiatives, academic research, and policy advocacy focused on culturally competent mental health services and minority community support.

He is the former head of Race Equality for the Welsh Assembly Government and CEO of Sharing Voices Bradford, an award-winning NHS-funded project delivering early intervention mental health support based on a trans-cultural model. Alyas has presented at national and international conferences, including the EU in Brussels, the UK Parliament, and the United Nations.

Alyas is also an active Imam and community leader across the UK, delivering sermons, lectures, and youth programs. He offers a range of courses through the Resilience Development Foundation, covering spiritual healing, parenting, marriage, youth leadership, and personal development. His work has been featured in media such as BBC Radio 4, highlighting his expertise in Islamic psychology and mental health.
